Derby Maths Tutor

Hello and welcome to my Derby maths tutor profile! My name is Zakariyya Dexter, but you can call me Zak. I teach GCSE Mathematics and Business Studies as my specialty.

I have always enjoyed teaching others new things that will end up helping them, no matter what it is. When I studied these subjects myself, I had an unfair advantage compared to my peers. I made use of all kinds of tricks to effectively learn and ultimately, make things simple.

It has always put a smile on my face whenever I teach someone something that they didn’t understand before, and then they get it. Just seeing their face light up with an “Oh, I get it now!” will never get old for me.

I have worked in a variety of roles. From Car Body Technician, to Store Front Assistant, to even a McDonald’s Worker. But sharing my passion and helping others gain an understanding in that subject is my real passion.

Being quite young allows students to really connect with me which makes the learning experience effortless and fun.

Education: I achieved a grade 7 in business studies and a grade 9 in mathematics at GCSE level before going on to study A-Level Maths.

I have always believed that if you want to learn best, learn simple and learn from those who have walked along the path you are looking at. And that is why I believe in the great opportunities that teaching can provide.

I have found that a student has the opportunity to teach just as well as a teacher, if not better. The knowledge is fresh, it is made interesting, and it has worked time and time again.

I teach maths and business studies online through video call and am also available to teach in person in Derby, UK.
